Hey you gen z 👀we had it all before you were even born. That morning we packed the little orange hard case with some shorts and tees and my favorite things and headed down the dusty road to grandmas. When we arrived there was fresh bread on the counter and my favorite cookies in the oven. All this and when I peeked into her tin by the sofa, there were little strawberry candies just like always. Our time would pass slowly whether in the pool floating on a ring, bike rides that got interrupted by geese crossing and an occasional deer or the adults might bring the horse out for a little while for me and my brother. Sipping ice tea or colas, summer was always my favorite time of year. Only cozy Christmas could compete and those were great too. Peering into the fire, grandmas fireplace was the hugest rock kind that filled up a whole wall and went to the ceiling. A big ol moose head to top it off. Fond memories of a time gone by makes me smile and know how great it’ll be to be grandma one day too.
